Here's the SA Drupal news for May:

Events

1. The Cape Town monthly meetup is scheduled for 6pm on Wednesday the 25th May at the Bandwidth Barn with a focus on Social Media Presence, Google as a support tool and the recent community project.

2. Springfisher is holding it's monthly Intro to Drupal Session on 31 May, where you can come and get answers to your Drupal questions, free and no strings attached. This is an informal session and space is limited.

3. The next Joburg meetup takes place on 1 June. Topics covered will be module development, a showcase of Thrifty Direct and Drupal Gardens.

Site Showcases

It's great to see all the new sites posted to the Showcase page. Check out the Adonis Musati Project, the SA LED Network, Kumbula Nursery, NoJoShmo, the Launcher as well as VuduLews - all built with Drupal.

Other News

1. There's a lot of activity and momentum in the Cape Town group: a committee has been established to help with the running of the group and Drupal initiatives in Cape Town, and a DrupalCape launch party is being planned for August 2011, so for those of you in Cape Town, keep an eye out for the details which will be announced as soon as they're finalised.

2. The CT group also held a Drupal Site-Building workshop last Saturday and the work in progress can be seen for CharityDrive. For more details on what happened, check this thread.

3. There has been some discussion around the communications channels the local Drupal groups are using - add your opinion to the discussion.
